In January 2025, we were delighted to welcome local poet Eithne Longstaff as our Poet in Residence at Catterick Library!

Eithne spent time chatting with library users, staff, and volunteers, listening to their stories and reflections on what makes the library such a special place.

Inspired by these conversations and letters, Eithne created a series of poems that beautifully capture the deep connection between libraries and the communities they serve.

She wishes to thank everyone who shared their time, thoughts, and words. Your voices shaped this poetic celebration of Catterick Library and the vital role it plays in our community.
