About CRACCL

CRACCL is made up of people like you, proudly serving the three closely-linked communities of Catterick Garrison, Richmond and Colburn.

We work in partnership with North Yorkshire Council, the Army, local councillors, town councils, schools, and other groups to make each library the beating heart of its community.

Whether you’re a volunteer or staff member helping to run our libraries, or you come in to use them – we wouldn’t be CRACCL without you.

Community Libraries

Did you know that Catterick, Richmond and Colburn Libraries are managed by the community?

Community Libraries are where community or voluntary groups and organisations manage and deliver their library services with support from the local council.

CRACCL is made up of a group of volunteers who came together in 2016 to help keep our libraries open. We are a registered charity (No. 1171181) and are managed by a group of volunteer trustees. We officially took over the running of the library in April 2017 in partnership with North Yorkshire Council.

Our libraries thrive thanks to the passion of our volunteers, supported and trained by a small team of paid staff. Volunteers choose how much time they’d like to give and work as part of a team at their preferred library, creating a welcoming environment for all.

Above all, CRACCL is about you. We value you using our services and appreciate your ideas and feedback on what we could do better. And if you’d like to volunteer, we’d love to hear from you.

Our Trustees

A dedicated group of volunteer Trustees plans, leads, and manages CRACCL. They play an important role in ensuring our libraries are run with the community’s best interests at heart.

If you are interested in becoming a Trustee, please contact us to arrange an informal chat. You can contact the trustees by emailing admin@craccl.org.
